Mountain East Medical Center Welcomes New Head of
Purchasing Department
An announcement was made this morning by Mountain East
Medical Center, that former head of purchasing, Bob Wilkinson, has resigned.
Wilkinson informed administration that he has accepted a position with City
Memorial Hospital. His resignation is to take effect immediately. This
announcement comes on the heels of successful quarter in which Wilkinson was
able to reduce hospital costs by nearly 15-percent.
Mountain East Medical Center is pleased that Johnny Toler,
will step in as head of purchasing following this announcement. Hospital
administrator, Harry Illscott, had this comment: “Bob’s abilities will be
greatly missed at this hospital, but I know that Johnny Toler is a person we
can all depend on to do whatever is necessary to keep this department going. I
have great faith in him and in this hospital.”
Toler has served the Mountain East Medical community for the
past 13 years, first as an assistant druggist, before advancing as the
assistant for the former head of purchasing, Bob Wilkinson. His wife, Carolyn
Toler is the head of the hospital’s gynecology department.
Toler gave the following statement: “This hospital means a
great deal to me and my family and I will give my best efforts to making our
purchasing department the best. I learned from a fine man—Bob Wilkinson—and I hope
I can continue to build on the foundation he established.”
